Thought for the Day: Complaining or Claiming?

Did you know that if you make $24,000 per year, you are in the top 6% of income earned in the entire world?

1 Thessalonians 5:18 - "In everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

How often do we find ourselves searching for the "will" of God in our lives, yet complaining every step of the way during our search?

It is so easy to complain about life, while at the same time attempt to claim blessings from the Lord? Which is it? Complaining or Claiming?

The Bible encourages us to give thanks in "everything" or "every situation". Why? That sounds absurd. Why would I give thanks in situations that are not positive? What do I gain? Why would this be God's will for me in Christ Jesus?

Perhaps the answer lies in the fact that God will work all of these things out for the good (Romans 8:28). That's right, God will work it out. Faith gives us the power and the ability to believe that God will work it out. It is the will of God for us to be able to believe in Him, not matter what the situation is. Ultimately, true faith will always be expressed in thanksgiving.

Exercise your faith today by giving God a song of praise for the victory...before the battle even begins. Embrace the will of God for your life by giving thanks to him, even if the score is not in your favor. Not only will God work it out for your good, he has been working out for your good...from day one. No matter how difficult the situation is for you right now, there will always be someone experiencing something far worse. God is keeping you, and he will continue to keep you...for his name's sake. Trust in the Lord. Choose to claim his promises, and leave the complaining to the unbeliever.

Feel free to share this with a friend today.
